Protective Effect of the Mixture of Stem bark, Leaf and Root Extract of Bauhinia acuminata L. against Carbon tetrachloride induced Liver Damage in Wistar Albino Rats

Objective: The objective of the present study was to evaluate hepatoprotective effect mixture stem bark, leaf and root extract Bauhinia acuminata L. using carbon tetrachloride induced hepatotoxicity model. Method: Powdered materials were extracted with distilled water soxhlet apparatus. dried extracts subjected preliminary phytochemical analysis evaluated for acute oral toxicity by OECD guidelines 423.The aqueous at a dose level 200 mg/kg 400 selected administered albino rats screening. Hepatotoxicity Carbon (1 ml/kg CMC). Silymarin (100 p. o) used as standard. Result: examination showed presence Alkaloids, Glycosides, Saponins, Flavanoids, Tannins, Aminoacids, Tryptophan, Quinones, Terpinoids, Starch, Vitamin C Carbohydrates. Furthermore, results that found be safe up 2000 b. wt. dependently shows potential restoring elevated biochemical parameters. Conclusion: obtained from indicates leaves possess promising activity. activity might due phytoconstituents including Carbohydrates C, Tryptophan Quinones in extract. Further studies are required identify active principle responsible
